Uisce Éireann SMS Notification Campaign

Back to Articles

05 September 2024

Uisce Éireann has launched a new Text Alert service and is urging businesses to sign up for real-time updates on water supply works and services in their area. The system is free-to-use and is available to all Uisce Éireann customers nationwide. Those who sign up will receive a text notification on supply interruptions or water quality events that last longer than four hours. It will also include details on planned water supply issues in your area.

Signing up for this new service is simple. Customers (both domestic and non-domestic) can do so by inputting their Eircode and mobile number on the Uisce Éireann website here.

Uisce Éireann research shows that in the past year alone, they have had more than two million interactions with customers via a range of channels including phone calls, texts and emails. Almost three quarters of their customers said they wanted to hear about water services, with over half of businesses indicating they would be interested in being regularly notified. The new Text Alerts service now allows customers to sign up for such updates.

This new service is in addition to the many other platforms Uisce Éireann uses to keep people informed. They include a 24/7 contact centre, media and social media channels and a dedicated online outage portal on the website. Its roll-out will play a crucial role in driving even more awareness of its work in communities across Ireland to deliver a clean, safe and reliable water supply.
