Hawksmoor launch new lunch specials, including their cult classic The Big Matt, the ‘world’s best burger’
Voted ‘No. 1 Burger in the World’ in 2023, the burger that went viral in NYC, The Big Matt, is coming as a lunchtime special to Hawksmoor this month.
A customer favourite making its debut in Dublin, The Big Matt (€21) is a towering tribute by Hawksmoor Group Executive Chef Matt Brown to a beloved fast food icon, with two dry-aged beef patties, double American cheese, Hawksmoor special sauce, shredded lettuce, onions and homemade pickles — with beef dripping fries on the side, of course, for Big Matt meal perfection.
The Big Matt takes place of honour on a roll-call of delicious new lunch options available in Hawksmoor for the next six months. Other specials also include dictionary thick 35-day dry aged rump steak & Café de Paris butter, served with beef-dripping fries and a steakhouse salad (€26), and roast hake with woodland mushrooms, creamed potatoes & lemon butter sauce (€26). Or charcoal roasted chicken, with roast garlic, lemon & parsley (€24), and a vegan option of charcoal roasted butternut squash, shiitake & oyster mushrooms with cashew ricotta (€12).
But The Big Matt is definitely the main man. A burger that started as a wry tribute to a classic and accidentally became a bit of a cult hit, it’s been one of the most requested items on the menu since it was first introduced, way back in 2017. Now to be found for a limited time at lunchtime in every UK and Irish Hawksmoor, who’s lovin’ it?
