Get Ready to Report on your Gender Pay Gap

Big changes are occurring for businesses in Ireland. From 2025, companies with as few as 50 employees must now report on their gender pay gaps, a significant shift from the previous threshold of 150 employees. This means that approximately 6,000 organisations across the country must comply with these regulations*, making urgent action essential.

Dates to keep in mind

  • Snapshot Date: In June 2025, you must capture your “Snapshot” employee data, that’s only 2 months away!
  • Reporting Deadline: Publish your gender pay gap report by November 2025, giving you just five months to analyse and present your findings.

What do you need to include in your report?

  1. Pay Differences: Calculate the mean and median hourly pay gaps between male and female employees, including bonuses.
  2. Contract Types: Break down data across full-time, part-time, and temporary contracts.
  3. Benefits and Bonuses: Report the percentage of male and female employees receiving bonuses and benefits-in-kind.
  4. Pay Bands: Analyse the distribution of male and female employees across four distinct pay quartiles.

You'll also need to provide a narrative explaining the reasons behind any pay gaps and outline the measures you're taking to address them. This transparency is crucial, as failure to comply can lead to legal consequences, including applications to the Circuit Court or Workplace Relations Commission*.
