Irish Firm Saves Over Half a Million Euros with Managed Workplace Services

McCambridge Duffy renews IT contract after making multiple operational savings last year

Changing IT providers led to massive savings on yearly mail and outage-related costs

Irish insolvency firm McCambridge Duffy has renewed its Managed IT contract with Apogee Corporation for four more years, following a changeover that led to savings of over half a million euros.

Since aligning with Apogee, the firm has reduced costs associated with both business mail – approx. €70k per year, now down to approx. €10k – and dealing with sudden technical outages, bringing an average of €37,000 per month all the way down to zero.

The changeover has also opened the door to an increase in productivity. Thanks to Apogee services, McCambridge Duffy has been able to almost double its workload without increasing its headcount, as well as reduce the processing time for a meeting of creditors appointment by 80%. In addition, successful remote working has led to the retention of 90% of staff, whose flexibility demands are now being met without sacrificing performance.

“I don’t think we could have reached this point today had we not cooperated so closely with the Apogee team,” said Michael Rutherford, Director of McCambridge Duffy. “It started with a project to streamline our printing processes, and now virtually everything we touch is an Apogee solution.”

As well as print, the firm have engaged with several services to achieve these savings. Chief among these is Managed IT Services, which has allowed them to upgrade to the enhanced productivity and cyber security features of Windows 11 devices. This is well ahead of 14th October 2025, the end-of-life date for Windows 10, when demand for new IT will be at an all-time high.

Wider IT infrastructure is also managed by Apogee, preventing the average 1-2 outages that the business would experience per month, leading to direct monthly savings of €37,000. Effective hybrid working has been enabled with a Document Management system, which allows staff to collaborate on files housed on a secure server, and utilises automation to further boost staff output.

“From the beginning of the conversation with McCambridge Duffy, it became clear that we could make significant improvements across the business,” says Aideen Muldoon, Sales Account Manager for Apogee. “We sat down with the key decision-makers at the firm and went through the current processes in detail to identify exactly how we could help them.”

With remote working processes fully implemented, McCambridge Duffy is in the process of moving to more modern premises – with Apogee taking responsibility for all the physical IT infrastructure. For more on Apogee’s work with McCambridge Duffy, you can find the full case study here.
