Last month, the European Commission committed to reducing the administrative burden associated with EU regulations and schemes by 25%, and by 35% for small and medium-sized businesses, by the end of its mandate in 2029. This was greatly welcomed by the Dublin business community who want to see similar commitments made over the lifetime of the Irish Government.
The Government of Ireland has expressed a keen interest in reducing bureaucracy for business and keeping a laser focus on competitiveness. In light of this, Dublin Chamber will be hosting a roundtable discussion at which members can share their concerns or specific feedback on the administrative pressures impacting their businesses.

Key questions for consideration
1) What are the most time-consuming or resource-intensive administrative burdens currently affecting your business? Examples might include ESG reporting, availing of government sustainability or enterprise supports, or adapting to evolving HR requirements arising from increased statutory sick leave, gender pay gap reporting or upcoming Auto-Enrolment obligations, amongst many others.
2) Have you had to hire additional HR staff or external consultants to help manage regulatory or compliance responsibilities? If yes, what are the associated costs involved? If not, do you anticipate needing additional support further down the line due to administrative pressures?
