Mark Finlay, Head of Public Sector, Amazon Web Services
Biography
As Head of Public Sector for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ireland, I lead a team that helps Irish public sector bodies digitally transform through the use of the AWS cloud, delivering modern, secure, and sustainable public services.
Prior to AWS, I worked for Motech, an assisted living start-up, and at Telefónica O2 Ireland, heading its Internet of Things business.
Election Statement
As a daily Dublin city cyclist, I’m a believer in the delivery of the ’15-minute city’. A Dublin with mixed development and integrated communities, where people have ready access to high quality services, is in everyone’s interests.
I’m passionate too about sustainability. I want to help with the growth of the renewable energy industry in Ireland, which is so important to achieving wider enterprise and environmental goals.
Finally, as a tech worker, I want to see Dublin become an even stronger digital hub. The city has an enviable and hard-earned reputation as a global tech centre. Let’s work to take Dublin to the next digital level – and continue to create 21st century jobs for the people who live here.
