Jennifer Harte, Head of Public Affairs at Gas Networks Ireland
Jennifer Harte is the Head of Public Affairs for Gas Networks Ireland. She has worked for almost 20 years in the energy industry in Ireland in various roles ranging from Customer Experience, Emergency Response, Logistics and most recently Public Affairs. Jennifer is currently working with stakeholders across industry in Ireland to develop an indigenous, renewable gas option for hard to decarbonise sectors. Jennifer is passionate about Ireland’s ambitions to transition to a cleaner, secure energy future.
Owen Collins, Senior Associate in Matheson's Energy & Infrastructure Group
Owen is a senior associate in the Energy and Infrastructure Group in Matheson LLP.
He has significant experience in the energy sector having advised on the development, sale, acquisition and financing of a number of energy projects in Ireland, including wind (onshore and offshore), solar PV, conventional generation, battery, biomass, biomethane and hydrogen projects. Owen has an in-depth knowledge of the Irish electricity market and regularly advises his clients on a range of electricity regulatory queries.
Owen specialises in particular in the drafting and negotiation of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and has advised on all types of PPAs including REFIT PPAs, RESS PPAs, merchant PPAs and corporate PPAs, as well as ancillary contracts such as balancing and trading services agreements. He has also written various articles on the subject of corporate PPAs and other energy matters.
Lisa Ryan, Professor in energy economics, School of Economics, UCD
Lisa Ryan is a professor in energy economics in UCD School of Economics and the UCD Energy Institute. Her research is in clean energy technology adoption, energy markets, and climate change economics and related policy. Her previous roles include senior board member of SEAI, senior energy economist in the Energy Efficiency Unit at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, and as policy analyst in the public sector and Volkswagen AG, Germany
