This month, Dublin Chamber met with representatives from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to discuss the inaugural roll out of gender pay gap reporting. Each June, businesses select a ‘snapshot’ date to record their employees’ hourly gender pay gap across a range of metrics. Employers must report this gap by December of that same year, as mandated by the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021.
2024 marks the first year in which organisations with 150+ employees fall within the mandatory gender pay gap reporting requirements, with this extending to companies with 50+ employees in 2025. Companies will be asked to upload their reports on a publicly available central database, which is due to be launched early next year. This database will allow searches by company and sector.
We would like to invite you to an online roundtable discussion at which businesses can share their concerns or specific feedback regarding gender pay gap reporting. Your feedback will help us as we continue to lobby the Government on your behalf.
