The European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Regulations 2024 were signed into law this month by Minister Peter Burke. Taking effect on 6th July, these regulations mandate all large companies and listed companies (excluding listed micro-enterprises) to report sustainability information, in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, in their directors’ reports. Reports must include an auditor’s opinion with limited assurance and be submitted digitally.
The regulations aim to provide investors and other key stakeholders with essential information to evaluate investment risks related to climate change and other sustainability issues.
