Minister Lawless Announces €8 million Funding to Drive Energy Efficiency Across FET Sector

On 10th February, newly appointed Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless announced €8 million in funding for green capital grants for the sixteen Education and Training Boards (ETBs).

The green devolved capital grant provides an annual allocation of €8,047,500 to help ETBs towards their delivery of energy efficiency and decarbonisation targets in Further Education and Training (FET) buildings and campuses. The continuation of this funding stream to ETBs will enable them to develop small scale but high impact measures, such as energy audits and controls, energy upgrades and decarbonisation measures. Funding is provided under Project 2040 and forms part of the ongoing investment in the FET sector.
