After nine very enjoyable years, Michael Costello will be stepping down as Managing Partner of BDO at the end of February this year. 

BDO is delighted to confirm that the partners have elected Brian McEnery to succeed, and he will take over on 1st March 2023. 

Brian joined the firm in 1995 and qualified as an ACCA while working in Corporate Finance in the Limerick office until 2003. In 2012, Brian re-joined the firm as a partner, and since then, he has been instrumental in developing our healthcare, corporate restructuring, and turnaround practices. In 2018, he became Head of Advisory and their International Liaison Partner. In addition to his firm responsibilities, Brian has held leadership positions in the Accounting Profession and Public Service: 

• From 2009 to 2018 - Board Member & Chair of the Audit Committee of NAMA 

• From 2013 to 2018 – Chair of HIQA 

• 2017 Worldwide President of ACCA 

• 2018 to date – Represents ACCA on the Members Assembly of Accountancy Europe 

• 2018 to date – Board Member of IFAC
