General Election

With a General Election on the horizon, we are delighted to share with you our General Election Priorities. These six priorities were agreed following extensive consultation with members at roundtable discussions, one to one meetings and with information from our quarterly surveys and Policy Council.

The next five years will be crucial for the future development of Dublin and for the quality of life of people who live and work here. We are calling on the next government to:

  • Deliver vital infrastructure projects including Metro, the Eastern and Midlands Water Supply Project and the Greater Dublin Drainage Scheme
  • Meet the demand for housing and achieve a target of 30,000 housing units each year in the Greater Dublin Area
  • Relieve the financial burden on working families by introducing a publicly funded model of childcare
  • Reduce the CGT burden on indigenous unquoted actively trading SMEs to 20%
  • Increase the number of Gardaí on our streets
  • Remove the passenger cap at Dublin Airport
